Corpus will be one of 104 artists participating in Art Habitat’s 26th Annual Monterey County Open Studios Tour. His home studio at 9 Miguel Court in Seaside will be open for visitors to view and purchase his original artwork and prints on the weekend of September 24th and 25th.He characterizes the often edgy and quirky style of art he creates as “horrendous and beautiful stories of trauma and transcendence,” and “subversive of popular culture”. Tinged with dark themes, they aim to draw attention to social and cultural conflicts -- and their potential resolution.A life-long artist, he works in traditional artists’ media such as graphite, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic paints. He draws as well on his training in digital graphic design from California State University Monterey Bay's Information Technology and Communications Design program to create digital-based computer composited artwork.“Be advised,” he cautions. ”Some of my work evokes emotional disquiet. It is after all a visual dialogue between the artist (me) and the viewer on the impacts of psychological and physical distress.
